The flu and creativity – poem

7/31/2012

Tissues

The flu and creativity
they simply do not gel.
It’s hard to be creative
when you frankly feel unwell.
You’re hot and cold and sweaty.
Your brain is full of mud.
You try and try for good ideas,
but every one’s a dud.
You want to sleep but you can not
despite so many pills
One for head, for chest, for nose
yet none can cure your ills.
You know you have so much to do
but you must lie in bed.
You want to be creative but
you’re dull as dirt instead.

Oh, Monique, I love this! The writing of the poem contradicts its message though. You are super creative even when you’re sick!
